Our next event is set for March 16th at the Designing Studio with a couple of great presentations and merry mixer afterwards at the Wired Cafe. Considering the ‘current economic situation’, as the fantastic keynote from Anssi Vanjoki (video above) noted recently in Barcelona, we are inspired and agreed - these are the times when winners are made!

Kotoshi mo Yoroshiku! We hope you all had a great holiday season and are rip-snort’in ready for what promises to be an interesting 2009. In honour of the Year of the Ox, we have decided to hold our Shinnenkai Kanpai event on 19 January at The Pink Cow, birthplace of MoMo Tokyo way back in 2004 (details below). This will be a free, open-to-all ‘come as you are and pay as you go’ event with several special guests expected, some sweet treats and a totally awesome door-prize courtesy of the nice folks at LG. We look forward to seeing everyone - regulars, guests and friends alike - at what should be a fantastic MoMo Tokyo 2009 launch event.

A big thank-you to all who braved the weather to attend MoMo Aug. 25th, you’re real troopers one and all. As noted our next gathering is Sept. 22nd at the Canadian embassy. Since all eyes are looking at the americas for potential growth, we’ve gathered - from both sides of the equator - a couple of industry insiders to share their insights. As always it promises to be a fantastic evening in a swank venue and we are thrilled to count that as the 4th anniversary of the MoMo Tokyo chapter launch!

Thanks to everyone who made it our for Nico Nico Night on the 14th and then the 4th annual NetTokyo fund-raiser last weekend, it was a great way to kick-off the summer! Our next MoMo Tokyo is August 25th and we have tapped a couple of savvy VC’s for a ‘money meets the talent’ evening. Be sure to register now and try to stay cool in the meantime.

We hope you all enjoy rainy season now because it’s gonna get hot-hot-hot real soon. Meanwhile, mark your calendar for our next event on June 23rd at the always fashionable KDDI Designing Studio in Harajuku with a Texting 2.0 theme. We’ve lined-up an interesting company to demo their touch screen input and translation software and are looking forward to hear from a senior Nuance representative regarding the future roadmap of their T9 predictive text entry product.
