MobileMonday Singapore Re-launched!

What a sensational MoMoSG event! There were over 120+ mobile professionals mingling at the seductive chamber at China One. Check out the rest of the photos here! It was great to make new friends from the education sector, notably NUS Business School and Nanyang Polytechnic. MobileMonday Singapore 2008 Peer Awards Competition

MobileMonday Singapore is calling for all nominations for the upcoming MobileMonday Singapore 2008 Peer Awards Competition to be held in the middle of April 2008. Eligible Singapore-based mobile companies will take the stage to make a three-minute pitch to a panel of expert judges.

This award aims to reward and recognize the exciting innovations emanating from the local mobile industry. It also aims to build and showcase the innovations from various individual developers that bring status-quo-challenging new ideas that reinvents the mobile industry, while providing visibility on the global stage to investors, customers, the media and business partners.

The local winners will proceed to the Asia regional finals against the top companies from other MoMo APAC city chapters. The winners will also be invited to compete with winners from regional finals in the Americas and Europe at the Global Peer Award Finals at the MobileMonday Global Summit to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from the 18-22 May 2008.

Companies must fall into one of three categories:

- Start-ups: Recently founded with early-stage financing
- Emerging: Operating between Series A & B funding
- Academic: Students from a local university

Eligible companies should have a presence here in Singapore. The contest is open to any content, service or application developers, targeting both the B2B or B2C customers and/or running on Java, Symbian, Flash or Windows Mobile. There are no restrictions on the business models, platforms or market segments the companies are operating in.

Eligible companies are encouraged to submit your entries with your company name, brief summary of your product and a relevant web link to singapore@mobilemonday.net. The deadline for submission is Monday, 14 April 2008. Refer to the MobileMonday Singapore web site for the latest updates on the competition. Speakers Bio

Aunkur Arya - Director of Business Development, AdMob
Aunkur is responsible for new partnerships and publisher relationships in the US and Southeast Asia. In this role, he works with mobile media owners and enablers to establish advertising distribution agreements, helping them leverage the AdMob marketplace to create new revenue streams for their mobile business. Aunkur has spent the last 8 years developing, commercializing, and marketing innovative Mobile and Internet products. Prior to AdMob, Aunkur managed strategic partnerships at July Systems (a mobile commerce platform provider) and partnered with operators and mobile game publishers to create new consumer-facing channels for selling mobile content. Previously, Aunkur has held positions at ComScore Networks and InfoSpace, and graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a BA in Economics.
