The Bangalore chapter of Mobile Monday was started by Rajan and Rajiv and the first meet was held on 17th June 2006. Keshav, S R Raja, Rajan & Rajiv are the co-convenors of Mobile Monday Bangalore. StartuporDie is a non profit organization/forum set up to help new entrepreneurs survive their first year of trading. This initiative has been created by Jof Walters after being tired of witnessing young entrepreneurs being ripped off due to lack of sound advice. Established in May 2005 MoMo Bangkok was founded and is organised by John Charlesworth and Callum Laing from MobyElite. Relaunched in mid 2011, Mobile Monday Bangkok has quickly emerged as a key networking and informational event for Thailand and SE Asia. Prominent mobile industry speakers are highlighted at the events that utilize Bangkok’s wide selection of elaborate hotels as venues. Entrepreneurs, business executives, developers, investors, and key mobile industry personnel all convene at Mobile Monday Bangkok events to keep abreast of industry trends, establish partnerships, and network. The events are organized by Ville Kulmala, Ellen Boonstra, Jeremie Tisseau, Thaninrat Pipitcharulerd, and Mike Michalec, all of whom have extensive experience in the tech and media industry within Asia.
Founded in January 2006 and with already over 1,000 members from over 500 companies, Mobile Monday Beijing is China’s leading information and networking event for the mobile industry. It has two main objectives: Promote innovation and help establish local and international cooperations and to promote Chinese companies to a foreign audience leveraging the Mobile Monday Global Network. Events are organised by Benjamin Joffe from Plus8Star, Lucy Lee and Haila Wang from France Telecom along with a supporting advisory board.
Founded in March 2008 MobileMonday Vietnam, Hanoi chapter founders and organizers are seasoned executives from leading companies such as Abamon Technology, Viettel Media, Visky FPT, Oberthur Cards Systems (Vietnam), and SinhVien Vietnam. MobileMonday Hanoi is aimed in setting up a strong connection between Vietnamese and foreign companies engaged in the mobile business; building communities which will develop and promote innovations over the latest trends in the mobile world. MobileMonday Hanoi is built based on open source concept, non-exclusive and not-for-profit. Funding is generated through sponsorship from forward looking companies.
MobileMonday Hong Kong
Launched in March 2006, in co-operation with Wireless Technology Industry Assoc. (WTIA), the chapter will endeavour to expose Hong Kong and Chinese mobile developers to foreign companies and markets while also providing an open platform opportunity for non-Chinese wireless industry players to meet their Chinese counterparts. Events are organised by Joseph Waring from Questex Asia.
Launched in December 2007 MobileMonday Indonesia founders and organizers are seasoned executives of the Indonesian information technology scenes from leading companies such as Elasitas, Nokia Siemens Networks, Ericsson Networks, MetroTV, Surya Citra Media, Asia Blogging Networks and academic from ITB. MobileMonday Indonesia also assembled a high competent board of advisor to ensure that the activities are always in tunes with the industry trends.
Established in June 2005 MoMo Melbourne is organized by Antony McGregor Dey, Justin Brow, Emily Freeman and Ben Bickford. The community is supported in part by the Australian Interactive Media Industry Assoc. and is dedicated to bringing the mobile industry players from down under together with collegues from around the world.
MoMo Mumbai was founded in July 2006 and is organised by VeerChand Bothra — Netcore Solutions, Pankaj Oza — Piramyd Retail, Aashish Barwale — Mahyco, Krishna Kumar — Microsoft. It’s core objectives are to promote local mobile industry, entrepreneurs and technologies to facilitate networking, cooperation, partnerships and business development and help take Indian mobile companies global by leveraging the international MoMo network.
Mobile Monday Seoul is a networking event where industry observers, experts, and all related people get together offline to share their information and ideas to create new market opportunities and develop the wireless industry. Online virtual networking is also available. MoMo Seoul is wide open to everyone in the industry. Mobilemonday Shanghai is a non-profit organization, founded in 2006. It is the only mobile-centric regular event in the whole of East China, also focusing on convergence and bridges between online and mobile industry. MobileMonday has become a successful concept in Shanghai since it was launched in October 2006, and draws between 100 and 120 guests at each meeting Mobilemonday has so far hosted such events as mobile advertising, mobile user-generated content, mobile TV, mobile payment and transactions and much more to come! MobileMonday is focused on attracting senior-level crowds of Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs, local and international mobile firms, MNCs in search for innovative mobile strategies, Venture Capitalists, press and analysts.
Founded in September 2005, and representing the city-state of Sinagpore, MoMo SG events are co-organised by the Singapore Computer Society and supported by the InfoComm Development Authority (iDA). Partners include Starcut, Global Search Partners, SVCA, MOCO and Telecom Asia.
MobileMonday Sydney is an initiative of Tim Parsons, Shane Williamson, and Oliver Weidlich with the support of AIMIA, and the global Mobile Monday organisation. Our chapter has operated since August 2006, we now have over 1,000 newsletter subscribers, and approximately 100 attendees per event. As of December 2007, we have over 750 attended members from 250+ companies.
MobieMonday Taipei chapter established on April 2nd, 2007. The chapter is hosted by Toro Ltd., a company focuses on NFC technology and aim to bridge mobile and payment. As part of the global community, we think Taipei needs to more active in participating and interacting with global community of mobile industry. Therefore, we decided to start MobileMonday Taipei chapter, hoping to promote the mobile industry and encourage innovations among the industry.
Established in September 2004, MoMo Tokyo hosts regular networking events that routinely attract 150-200 participants. These events feature presentations from major companies, including Adobe, Google, HP, HTC, KDDI, MTV, Microsoft, NEC, Mozilla, Opera, RIM, Sony, W3C and Warner Music, as well as dozens of interesting and innovative SME’s. Founded by Mobikyo K.K., the company also publishes Wireless Watch Japan and operates Mobile Intelligence guided missions providing various related consulting, introduction and research services.
